BAMBINOS

Youth Theatre Group

During the 1990's, BAMS produced musicals such as The Sound of Music, The King and I, The Wizard of Oz and Annie. All of these shows involved large juvenile casts. It was then we realised that BAMS needed an ongoing outlet for the many talented and enthusiastic children who had become part of the BAMS' family.

So in 1999, Bambinos was born, led by four BAMS mums all of whom had children who had been involved with BAMS at some stage. Bambinos strives to introduce children aged 9-17 to the wonderful world of music and theatre; to stimulate creativity, imagination and self confidence; to teach the rudiments of stagecraft and to provide opportunities to perform in a theatrical environment; to identify and encourage stars of tomorrow and most certainly to nurture the audience of tomorrow. A number of BAMS' juniors have already found professional success in acting, drama education, film production and musical theatre.

The highlight of the Bambinos program is the end-of-season concert, which family and friends of the Bambinos are invited to attend. Bambinos meet each Monday night at The Centre Beaudesert during school terms one and two.
